Improv for Mental Health: Enhancing Well-being through Play and Spontaneity

The Improv for Mental Health course is designed to harness the power of comedy improv techniques to promote healing, enhance communication skills, and improve emotional well-being among clients. Through a series of interactive and engaging exercises, participants will develop their creativity, self-expression, and interpersonal skills while fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.

Course objectives
 

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

1.      Understand the principles of improv theater and its application in mental health
2.      Cultivate spontaneity, creativity, and resilience through various improv exercises
3.      Enhance self-awareness and self-expression through improv play
4.      Build trust and foster a sense of belonging within a supportive community
5.      Explore emotions, self-regulation, and empathy through role-playing and character development
6.      Apply learned skills and techniques to real-life situations and challenges
